Experience in fields of concern to IUCN:

Over the past three decades, I have dedicated my life to championing environmental awareness, driving inclusive policies, and building bridges across sectors and geographies. My journey has spanned research, policy advocacy, media, civil society, and international networks—allowing me to speak the language of many worlds and connect them for collective impact. Since 2021, I have been the Regional Vice Chair for South and Southeast Asia and a Steering Committee Member of CEC. This role has been a privilege, allowing me to contribute directly to the CEC's strategic direction and regional impact. My contributions include:  Co-organizing the first-ever Environmental Film Festival in Bhutan (2022), sparking several youth-led local conservation initiatives.  Bringing the CEC Steering Committee meeting to India and for CMSVATAVARAN in Goa (2023)  Leading the first Biodiversity Film Festival in Nepal in partnership with IUCN Nepal and national members, showcasing local conservation successes and challenges to a wider audience.  Designing the Education Day programming at COP 16, focusing on integrating biodiversity into formal and informal education systems.  Coordinating a UNICEF-IUCN study on Youth and Climate Action in India  Contributing to the first-ever Global Survey on Education for Biodiversity 2025 as part of the Nature-based Education Task Force. I’ve actively worked to connect the pillars of IUCN: Members, Commissions, and Secretariat offices, truly weaving connections across our Union. I deeply believe that the real power of IUCN lies in these dynamic collaborations and in fostering a sense of belonging for all who contribute. Please read my vision for more details on my five interwoven priorities to deepen our collective impact and nurture a culture of care, collaboration, and purposeful action, directly aligning with and amplifying IUCN's core mission and CEC's established strengths.
