Particular qualifications:

As Proprietary Councillor of the Curridabat City Council, Director of Companies, Member of Multiple Boards of Directors and Focal Point of IUCN, I meet the requirements to be a Regional Councillor, contributing more than 16 years of experience in political strategy and environmental protection. My contributions to the recognition of Curridabat as a Sanctuary City for Bees, Birds and Dust Free have demonstrated a deep commitment to the conservation of local biodiversity, which has positioned the canton as a benchmark in sustainability. I have demonstrated capacity in governance, leading to significant advances in environmental protection at the local level, including the incorporation of Curridabat to IUCN as the first Subnational Government accepted into this international organization. In addition, my focus on the leadership of highly trained commissions and my ability to generate training and leadership opportunities have been critical to the success of some environmental initiatives of the Government I represent. With over 33 years of volunteer experience, I acquired a unique sensitivity towards human rights, gender approach and regenerative development. My strategic, leadership, team coordination and negotiation skills have allowed me to strengthen the impact of my work both locally and regionally, positioning me as a key player in promoting a sustainable future for our communities.

Experience in fields of concern to IUCN:

Promoter of Curridabat as a Sanctuary City for Bees, Birds, Dust Free and the elaboration of a Municipal Strategic Plan 2023-2027 whose main dimension is Nature, 16 years of experience as a strategist in political spaces, skills for negotiation with governments and organizations which have generated advances in environmental protection. Promoted the incorporation of Curridabat to IUCN as the first Subnational Government accepted into this international organization. For more than 33 years he has dedicated part of his time to volunteering in various organizations and associations, understanding that social and community work is essential for sustainable development.
