Gabriela DELGADO MACìAS

Biography

Ecuadorian agricultural professional, beekeeper, and bamboo cultivator, specialized in agroecology and sustainable development. She combines extensive hands-on experience in the field with academic, technical, and community-strengthening work, promoting resilient and sustainable production systems.

She currently serves as a Technical Officer for the EbA LAC Program, where she has led bio-input exchange fairs, beekeeping gatherings, activities related to sustainable bamboo management, as well as seed and local knowledge exchange spaces across various communities in Manabí.

She has been actively involved in technical advisory processes and outreach, collaborating with local media and community organizations to promote sustainable agricultural practices. In the environmental and agroforestry fields, she promotes the planting of species such as bamboo and biodiversity conservation, working alongside plant production centers and producer networks.

Her work reflects a deep commitment to climate resilience, food sovereignty, and the revaluation of local knowledge, integrating beekeeping as a key tool for ecological restoration and sustainable rural development. In addition, she places strong emphasis on gender mainstreaming in all activities, advocating for equity and the active participation of women in the agricultural sector and in climate change adaptation processes.
