Anson M. Tagtag

Biography

Anson Tagtag is a Chief, Ecosystems Management Specialist of the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources of the Philippines with over 20 years of experience in biodiversity management and governance with focus on threatened species conservation and the regulation of wildlife trade. His work spans development of national policies and programs on wildlife conservation and sustainable use, threatened species conservation planning and implementation, and stakeholder engagement in threatened species conservation.  He serves as a member of the Philippine Plant Conservation Committee and the Philippine Red List Authority for terrestrial fauna. 

With a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Masters in Environmental Management, Mr. Tagtag has a special interest in invasive alien species management and the management of human-wildlife conflict, where he currently leads the implementation of the emerging national program for both areas of work.
