Daanish QAMAR

Biography
Daanish Qamar is a sustainability and projects specialist based in Dubai, with extensive experience in driving environmental initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and climate education across the MENA region. At The Waste Lab, Daanish coordinates initiatives to divert food waste from landfills and transform it into nutrient-rich compost that restores and regenerates local soils. A passionate advocate for circular economy solutions, he works at the intersection of food systems, waste management, and community engagement to tackle pressing environmental challenges, while side by side raising awareness on food loss, waste and composting Daanish has played an active role in COP28 programming at Terra in Expo City Dubai, managed sustainability reporting and assurance projects, and spearheaded environmental education for thousands of youth through the UAE Climate Ambassadors Program (CAP). His work bridges policy, industry, and community, fostering collaborations with governments, UN agencies, NGOs, and academia to accelerate sustainable development. He has worked on high-impact sustainability forums, curates multi-stakeholder dialogues, and advances youth-led research on circular economy, waste valorisation, and climate action. Passionate about amplifying youth voices and designing innovative platforms for knowledge-sharing, he continues to champion inclusive pathways for climate resilience and environmental stewardship.
