Session Description

Along the shoreline of Al Taweelah in Abu Dhabi, the critically endangered Hawksbill sea turtle returns each year to nest, playing a vital role in sustaining coral reef ecosystems. Since 2011, EGA’s Hawksbill Turtle Conservation Programme has focused on protecting this iconic species through ongoing beach management, nest monitoring, and data collection led by trained biodiversity experts. The programme also includes measures such as nest protection and ensuring safe passageways for hatchlings. This session explores how to contribute to local biodiversity protection, demonstrating how industry and conservation can work together in line with IUCN conservation principles.
