Session Description

If you don’t trust warnings on weather and climate, how can you adapt and survive? Too often, weather and climate scientists are sharing information in ways that doesn’t make sense for local audiences – leaving them unable to prepare and adapt their homes and livelihoods, and unable to consider ways to minimise their broader environmental impact. But what if we could help scientists, broadcasters and local people talk to each other more effectively? Find out how BBC Media Action has been working around the world to support local media outlets and harness the power of media in delivering understandable, timely and actionable weather and climate information, for more effective climate adaptation, sustainable livelihoods and sustainable food security.
