The Freshwater Challenge is the world’s largest initiative to restore degraded freshwater ecosystems, aiming to safeguard biodiversity, build climate resilience, and secure water resources by 2030. As a founding member and co-lead, the UAE is turning this global ambition into practical action designed for arid and water-scarce contexts. This session will spotlight the UAE’s achievements and new commitments in conserving and restoring freshwater and coastal wetlands.
