Bold, scalable, replicable and collaborative models are necessary to close Africa’s significant finance for nature shortfall. The session spotlights some of Africa’s current and upcoming successes in identifying and implementing sustainable finance and the necessity of collaboration to reach impact for people and biodiversity.

Moderated by Candice Stevens, the event is structured in two parts to spotlight innovations and lessons learned in undertaking the journey to unlock sustainable finance for conservation in Africa. The first panel will place a spotlight on NGOs working collaboratively to apply the Coalition's Finance Model to identify and implement finance solutions and mobilise the capital and capacity required to have meaningful impact on the ground. The panel will dive in on the role of Conservation Trust Funds and the Building Blocks to their success. The second panel will be focused on the BIODEV project and the specific roles of government and the private sector as enablers to reaching impact at scale.
