Description de la séance

As climate change accelerates, the pressures on food systems and biodiversity are intensifying, especially in communities already navigating precarious livelihoods. This session brings together three compelling case studies that highlight the complex trade-offs and opportunities at the intersection of conservation and food security. In Tanzania, smallholder farmers share their experiences of crop loss and human–wildlife conflict in a changing climate. In Mexico, the restoration of desert bighorn sheep demonstrates how ecological recovery and community livelihoods can be strengthened through innovative water management and sustainable use. From Malawi, research insights reveal the challenges of balancing agricultural productivity with biodiversity conservation in shared landscapes. Together, these stories illustrate the urgent need to rethink how we support both people and nature in an era of climate uncertainty. Join us to explore lessons learned, cross-continental perspectives, and pathways to resilient, inclusive, and sustainable landscapes.
