Neil Cox is the Manager of the Biodiversity Assessment Unit, a joint initiative of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and Conservation International, based in Washington, DC. Neil has contributed to the production of key global biodiversity data, including reviews of the conservation status of all amphibians, mammals and most recently reptile species. He is currently exploring options for advancing the use of new technologies for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, expanding the use of eDNA by IUCN, examining soil biodiversity health, and assisting in developing additional conservation action for terrestrial Caribbean biodiversity. Neil has been associated with the IUCN Red List since 1994, in a variety of capacities including organizing and managing over 50 international workshops.
