Hari Krishna NIBANUPUDI

Biographie

Hari Krishna Nibanupudi is an international expert on climate change, humanitarian response, and sustainability with over two decades of leadership across Asia, Africa, and beyond. He currently serves as Global Climate Change and Ageing Adviser at HelpAge International, where he champions the meaningful inclusion of older people in climate policy and finance. His career spans senior roles with the UNDP, WFP, UN-Habitat, ICIMOD, and Oxfam, where he has designed and led large-scale programmes on disaster risk reduction, climate adaptation, and sustainable development, including regional cooperation frameworks in the Hindu Kush Himalaya and national disaster management reforms in Bangladesh. Hari has authored peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and opinion pieces, and is a recognised mentor of climate innovators through SDSN, MIT Climate CoLab, and the Climate Reality Project. A member of IUCN’s Climate Crisis Commission and its Commission on Education and Communication, he brings a rights-based perspective to resilience, combining policy influence with grassroots action.
