Descripción de la sesión

With financing secured, this session centers on where outcomes are realized: in communities and landscapes. It demonstrates how Conservation Trust Funds (CTFs) channel resources to Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and grassroots organizations through inclusive governance and culturally grounded approaches. Speakers share examples of community-led stewardship, long-term mechanisms that promote equity and resilience, and how local action aggregates to regional and global biodiversity and climate benefits. A spotlight highlights Mozambique’s Leadership Program for Conservation (PLCM), launched by BIOFUND in 2019, illustrating how investments in in-service training, youth scholarships and internships, public awareness, and technical education build the human capital that sustains community-led conservation. Participants will gain practical insights into funding modalities, safeguards, and partnership models that strengthen local leadership and deliver durable, measurable impact.
