Hou Yuanqing has long been engaged in domestic and foreign cooperation projects in the fields of forestry carbon sequestration, forestry addressing climate change, and biodiversity conservation. He is currently the Deputy Secretary-General and head of the project department of China Green Carbon Foundation, responsible for the overall project strategic layout, policy research, project financing and operation management, external affairs and project publicity of the Foundation, and works with many Fortune 500 companies, international enterprises, state-owned enterprises and leading enterprises and domestic and foreign public welfare partners. To carry out the planning, fundraising and implementation of carbon sequestration projects, forestry carbon neutral projects, ecological protection and restoration projects, national parks and nature protected areas public welfare projects, support and participate in the relevant policy formulation and legislative proposals of the competent authorities in the field of ecosystem carbon sequestration. He is now an expert in the evaluation and selection of the methodology proposal of the voluntary greenhouse gas emission reduction project of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and a member of the standardization Technical Committee of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration to address climate change.
