Javokhir Abdukhalikov is a Deputy Head of Department at the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, working in the International Cooperation and Rankings Department. He has over six years of experience in environmental protection, international policy and biodiversity conservation. Javokhir plays a key role in fostering partnerships with global organizations such as UNEP, IUCN, UNDP, FAO and GEF, as well as international treaty secretariats like CMS and CITES.
He has contributed to significant milestones for Uzbekistan, including its accession to IUCN, establishing the first office of the Global Green Growth Institute in Central Asia and the IUCN Tashkent Office, leading preparations for hosting the 14th Conference of the Parties to the CMS (2024) and the 20th Conference of the Parties to the CITES (2025), both in Samarkand.
Javokhir holds degrees in World Economy and International Economic Relations from Tashkent State University of Economics and Organic Technologies from Tashkent Chemical-Technologies Institute. Graduated from the Klaus Toepfer Fellowship (KTF) Programme for Future Leaders in Nature Conservation. Currently studying Environmental Law at the Central Asian University of Environmental and Climate Change Studies "Green University" in Tashkent.
His work focuses on advancing international cooperation for nature conservation, particularly in migratory species protection and their habitat, and sustainable development initiatives across Central Asia.
