It will feature participation from the Peruvian Ministry of Environment, representatives of local and subnational governments such as Mexico City and the Prefecture of Carchi in Ecuador, as well as a civil society organization from Guatemala. The IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas will open with a reflection on the challenges of urbanization in key biodiversity areas. The session will promote the exchange of nature-based solutions, participatory planning, and local partnerships to advance toward more resilient, inclusive, and nature-positive cities.Speaker
