Description de la séance

A new generation of debt-for-nature swaps (DFNS) is reshaping sovereign conservation finance—more flexible, inclusive, and results-focused. This session unpacks recent innovations in structuring and execution, from policy alignment and stakeholder inclusion to robust monitoring frameworks. Central to these advances are Conservation Trust Funds (CTFs), which provide the governance, fiduciary rigor, and long-term financing architecture that translate swaps into verifiable, nature-positive outcomes. Panelists will share practical lessons from the field, highlighting how CTFs sustain transparency, accountability, and adaptive management over time. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of emerging DFNS models, how they dovetail with national strategies and local priorities, and what it takes to design deals that deliver both debt relief and durable biodiversity and climate benefits.
