This panel brings together diverse voices to tackle one of the defining questions of our time: can food sovereignty and biodiversity conservation truly work together as allies in building resilience, or are they on a collision course? From the promise and pitfalls of agroecology to the realities of wild-harvested foods, panellists will confront trade-offs, challenge assumptions, and share lived experiences from communities already adapting on the frontlines of climate change. Expect a provocative discussion that goes beyond survival, asking what just, resilient, Human-Centred food systems could, and should, look like in a warming world. The purpose of the panel is to examine which food systems can survive and thrive under accelerating climate shocks, identify the changes needed, explore whether food sovereignty and biodiversity conservation can align or conflict, and test Human-Centred Conservation principles—equity, rights, local leadership, and cross-sector integration—in shaping resilient, just, and sustainable food systems.Speaker
