Discover how sport can be a game-changer for biodiversity: this event unveils innovative strategies and solid partnerships proving that athletic passion and nature conservation can go hand in hand to mobilize new audiences and drive real-world environmental impact.
Descripción de la sesión
Sport and biodiversity may seem unrelated—but what if sport could become one of nature’s most unexpected allies? This event explores how the popularity, emotion, and collective energy of sport can be harnessed to raise awareness, change behaviors, and support concrete biodiversity conservation efforts. Through real-world examples, pioneering initiatives, and cross-sector collaborations, we will demonstrate how sport can go beyond performance and entertainment to serve as a platform for ecological action. Through field-based examples, pioneering initiatives, and cross-sector collaboration, we will demonstrate how sport can move beyond performance and entertainment to become a true lever for ecological action. This session will present the findings of a white paper co-authored by Play for Nature and Sport4Nature, with the support of IUCN and the French Development Agency (AFD). Participants will leave with testimonials and practical insights on building effective partnerships, reaching new audiences, and embedding environmental responsibility into sports governance.
