As the global community accelerates efforts to transition away from fossil fuels—guided by landmark decisions at COP28 and COP29—businesses are at the forefront of delivering real-world solutions. This interactive session convenes energy sector leaders, policymakers, and IUCN experts to explore how the energy transition can be both climate-smart and nature-positive.In alignment with the 2026–2029 IUCN Programme, which emphasizes the critical role of the energy transition in achieving a nature-positive future, this session will explore how businesses can contribute to systemic change. The Programme calls for transformative action across sectors to decarbonize economies while restoring ecosystems, ensuring that the shift to renewable energy also supports conservation outcomes and community resilience. This session offers a unique platform to shape partnerships, share insights, and co-develop pathways for a just, inclusive, and ecologically responsible energy transition.
