Descripción de la sesión
Youth not only meaningfully engage in conservation. They critically analyze what’s missing in the local and national conservation efforts and address this gap with their creative approaches. Such diverse approaches are what we need for bioculturally diverse regions like Southeast Asia (SE Asia). With diverse ecosystems across terrestrial and marine realms, with species endemic to islands, mountains, and even a creek, there is no panacea for the biodiversity crisis. This session aims to share what SE Asian youth leaders have been doing to tackle the challenge of the biodiversity crisis, from building woman-led ecoprint enterprises to support Javan Gibbon conservation, initiating island-wide storytelling projects and local citizen scientists to protect Sulawesi's endangered yet neglected wildlife, implementing one of the biggest restoration projects in the Philippines, to restoring coral reefs in Indonesia. These are stories where youth lead, youth innovate.Organised by
