It offers a unique opportunity to influence global conservation policy while ensuring that regional challenges and intergenerational equity are reflected in IUCN’s future direction.

Descripción de la sesión

This session explores opportunities for youth, particularly young women, to engage meaningfully in shaping the new IUCN Programme ( 2026-2029) and influencing environmental policies and priorities at both regional and international levels. Anchored in the IUCN Youth Strategy 2022–2030, the session highlights how young people can contribute to sustainable solutions, inform policy, and play an active role in global and Arab-region conservation initiatives. It will showcase experiences of young women who, despite systemic barriers and challenges from conflict and social instability, are advancing gender-responsive approaches that connect grassroots action to regional and global policy frameworks. Participants will receive guidance on engaging with key bodies like IUCN, CBD…, and explore strategies to overcome obstacles and access opportunities.
