This session will explore the role of funds managed by territorial communities and Indigenous Peoples in transitioning to nature-positive economies. It will focus on the needs and structures required for these funds to operate effectively, with a special emphasis on the potential for blended finance. Participants will engage in discussions about the challenges and opportunities for using these financial mechanisms to conserve, restore, and regenerate ecosystems while fostering food security and sustainable and resilient livelihoods. Through knowledge-sharing and collaboration with the Mesoamerican Alliance of Peoples and Forests (AMPB) amongst other , this session will offer practical insights on how Indigenous and local communities leverage the Mesoamerican Territorial Fund (FTM), as example, to foster food security and create equitable, resilient and sustainable livelihoods, aligning with the broader goal of halting biodiversity loss and transforming financial systems .Moderator
