World-spanning panelists will discuss degradation's systemic drivers, including myths around North American biomass, and how building equitable accountability can foster truly sustainable economies in the Americas and around the world.

This panel will discuss the long-overlooked issue of logging-driven degradation in North America and across the Global North, and the industries, such as biomass and pulp and paper, that fuel it. Panelists will highlight the need for accountability for degradation in places such as the United States Southeast and the Canadian boreal forest and implications for the global climate and biodiversity. They will discuss how governance reforms that build accountability for northern forest degradation and can propel more sustainable economies around the world.
