Descripción de la sesión

This event will convene leading actors from government agencies, international conventions, research initiatives, NGOs, and stakeholders to explore the challenges and opportunities of upscaling restoration efforts in Europe and beyond. At the event, you will hear how the Ramsar Convention is essential in guiding concrete action on the ground and how the EU Nature Restoration Regulation can be a ground-breaking instrument to put nature on the path to recovery. Drawing on targeted research and practical restoration experience across Europe, participants will learn how projects such as RESTCOAST provide valuable insights for designing and implementing effective restoration frameworks, engaging stakeholders, mobilising resources, and monitoring restoration outcomes. With climate change induced sea-level rise posing an urgent threat, coastal regions face increasing pressure to adapt in the short to medium term. Restoration offers a unique opportunity to ensure these transformations work with nature, safeguarding the long-term resilience of coastal ecosystems and their communities.
