Descripción de la sesión

By definition, impact evaluations use counterfactuals, i.e., what would have happened in the absence of the project or intervention. But in data-limited and resource-constrained settings, these counterfactuals may be difficult to come by. Fortunately, several options exist to suit your situation. This session will introduce a framework to help you identify appropriate impact evaluation design and methods for the results you want to measure (e.g. increase in wildlife population, decrease in poaching behavior, scaling up of policies). Following a brief presentation of concrete applications in GEF projects, you and fellow participants are invited to identify and discuss the appropriate design selection criteria and potential method(s) to use under certain conditions, using your own project examples.
