Descripción de la sesión
Urban greening is increasingly recognised as a strategic imperative for cities facing climate, biodiversity, and economic challenges. The AIPH Green City Standard provides a governance-driven framework to help cities plan, implement, and monitor nature-based solutions, embedding greening into city leadership, urban management, and economic development. AIPH, the world-leading champion for the power of plants, has drawn on eight decades of experience in designing the framework. Cities trialling the AIPH Green City Standard have noted that it provides a systematic assessment of strengths and weaknesses and helps cities with individual examples of excellence to assess shortcomings. In this session, we will introduce the AIPH Standard’s eight key city-led processes, share lessons from award-winning cities, and demonstrate how plants, parks, and green spaces can enhance competitiveness, attract investment, and improve urban resilience. Attendees will be invited to contribute to the open consultation on the continued development of the AIPH Green City Standard.Organised by
