Biografía

Dr P. Krishnan is the Director of the Bay of Bengal Programme Inter-Governmental Organisation (BOBP-IGO), where he leads regional cooperation among member countries to promote sustainable fisheries management and secure livelihoods for coastal communities in the Bay of Bengal region. With a strong background in fisheries science, governance, and policy, he has made significant contributions to strengthening scientific assessments, capacity-building initiatives, and the implementation of international instruments in member states. His leadership has been pivotal in advancing regional dialogue, promoting ecosystem-based approaches to fisheries management, and fostering partnerships with governments, development agencies, and fisher community organisations. Through his vision and guidance, BOBP-IGO continues to play a vital role in enhancing food security, sustainability, and inclusive development in the fisheries sector across the Bay of Bengal region.
