The event “COP30 Brazil: Call for Action on Climate and Nature – Key Messages from IUCN” will present the IUCN Position Paper for COP30 to Members, partners, and the wider community. As the world prepares for a landmark climate conference in Belém do Pará, IUCN will share its priorities for advancing integrated solutions to climate and biodiversity crises. The session will highlight how nature-based solutions, ecosystem restoration, and resilient protected and conserved areas can play a central role in achieving global climate goals. With insights from IUCN’s Climate Change Team and the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management’s Climate Change Specialist Group, the event will foster dialogue on how to scale action, finance, and partnerships. Participants will gain a clear understanding of IUCN’s asks for COP30 and how they can contribute to shaping a more resilient, equitable, and nature-positive future.
