Kong Kimsreng
Mr. Kong Kimsreng is a conservation leader with over 25 years of experience in biodiversity research, protected area management, and natural resources governance in Cambodia and the region. He currently serves as Director of Northern Tonle Sap Terrestrial Protected Areas Conservation at the Ministry of Environment, Cambodia, where he oversees national protected area zoning, management planning, biodiversity monitoring, and capacity building.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kimsreng has held senior positions with international organizations including IUCN and WCS, where he led major programs on wetlands, coastal resilience, community-based natural resources management, and endangered species conservation. He has worked extensively with international donors such as the World Bank, UNDP, and CEPF, successfully mobilizing resources and building strong partnerships.
Mr. Kimsreng has published scientific and policy papers on species conservation, wetlands, and protected area zoning, and has represented Cambodia at numerous international forums on biodiversity and climate change. He is widely recognized for his ability to bridge science, policy, and community engagement to strengthen conservation efforts in Cambodia and the Mekong region.
